We have completed the B Corporation’s B Impact Assessment Tool (BIA) and are awaiting the next stage of verification before we are awarded the B Corporation certification.

The assessment covers Vivent’s overall social and environmental performance. We are setting in place indicators to measure the impact of our business on all our stakeholders.

GOAL 2: Zero Hunger

Vivent’s products and services aim to reduce hunger by increasing availability to affordable, sustainable and safely produced food.

GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being

Vivent’s products enable farmers to produce food with less chemical input, thereby increasing its safety and nutritional value.

Goal 5: Gender Equality

Vivent works to ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in the work place and in our supply chain.

GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Vivent’s products mean farmers can produce foods with less chemical inputs, thus ensuring that water supplies are less at risk of being contaminated by pesticides and fertilizers.

Vivent is a start-up that is hiring and providing decent work and economic growth, it can help to provide job security for its customers’ workers by increasing yields and thus work for farmers.

Vivent is developing innovative technology whose goal is to support agriculture to be more sustainable. Eventually the technology will be used in developing countries, supporting their economic development and their capacity to produce crops with greater efficiency and at lower cost.

Vivent can support the development of sustainable cities through the use of its products in urban agriculture and horticulture, providing access to low income communities to locally grown vegetables and food crops.

GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

Vivent can help farmers to achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment. Vivent can help reduce food losses along production and supply chains, especially pre-harvest losses.

GOAL 13: Climate Action

Vivent can strengthen the resilience and adaptive capacity of farmers to climate-related hazards and natural disasters by supporting them to grow in controlled conditions as well as to reduce their exposure to inputs and water.

Vivent supports farmers to use fewer inputs in agriculture, reducing marine pollution from run-offs and nutrient pollution.

Climate Change policy

Climate change will require farmers to adapt agriculture practices to ensure a safe, secure and sustainable future for all of us. Vivent’s mission is to work with farmers and growers to grow more food with less resources and to help develop a more resilient food supply system.

Supplier policy


Compliance with human rights and applicable laws

We will only enter into contractual relationships with suppliers who respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN, 1948) and comply with the laws of the respective national legal systems.


Prohibition of discrimination

Suppliers undertake not to permit discrimination against people during their hiring, remuneration, access to auxiliary services and educational opportunities, advancement, disciplinary practices or dismissal, be it on the basis of sex, religion, ethnicity, national origin, marital status, political opinion or sexual orientation, and to promote equal opportunity.


Punishment – abuse – harassment

We require that all employees be treated with dignity and respect. Any kind of physical, psychologi­cal, sexual or verbal abuse or harassment, or physical or mental coercion or physical punishment is forbidden.


Prohibition of child labour

We do not accept child labour. Employees may be hired only if they have passed the age for compul­sory schooling or are at least 15 years old (ILO Convention 138). Children aged between 15 and 18 are not permitted to perform work that is harmful to their health or safety or is immoral. Employees who are minors are to be allowed access to legitimate training and transition programmes.


Prison, forced or slave labour

We refuse to work with suppliers who employ people in prison, forced or slave labour, or in debt servitude.


Wages and benefits

We expect our suppliers to provide their employees with appropriate remuneration and a minimum salary that is in line with the national standard. They are also required to pay the support allowances that apply to the respective region.


Health and safety

We expect our suppliers to provide their employees with safe working conditions and a work environment that is not harmful to their health. Suppliers must take preventive measures to avoid accidents and occupational illnesses. Access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities must be guaranteed.



We work only with suppliers who prohibit any form of corruption or other preferential treatment aimed at winning orders.



We have an obligation to society as well as a responsibility towards the environment, and we are interested in working with suppliers who share our philosophy. We expect our suppliers to make efforts to continuously minimize their environmental impact and to improve envi­ronmental protection. They must also comply with the environmental laws and requirements in force at the place of manufacture.


Working hours

Employees’ maximum weekly working hours, leisure time and breaks must be in line with national legislation.


Compliance with minimum social requirements in the provision of services in Switzerland

Suppliers and providers confirm that, for services provided in Switzerland, they comply with the terms of employment (collective and normal employment contracts as well as standard local or in­dustry terms of employment) and occupational health and safety regulations applicable at the place where the services are provided as well as the principle of equal pay for men and women.


Compliance with minimum social requirements in the provision of services abroad

Suppliers and providers confirm that, for services provided abroad, they at least comply with the core Convention of the International Labour Organization (ILO core Convention).


Sub-contractors and suppliers

Suppliers must ensure that these principles and minimum social requirements are also observed by their sub-contractors and suppliers.

Anti-corruption policy

It is Vivent’s policy to conduct all of our work in an honest and ethical manner. We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and in the promotion of the Global Goals (SDGs).
